Changes to the DLSA Level Progression |
In keeping with our continuous improvement philosophy at DLSA, Darren together with the Senior Teachers conducted a review of all DLSA Lesson Plans and Level Progression levels. Following this review, a number of modifications were made to the Level Progression and various Lesson Plans. Here are just some of the improvements made and how this has bettered our program:
1. Water Confidence 2: - WC2 has now been split into two separate levels: WC2 and WC3. - WC2 now has a maximum of 4 children per class. WC3 has a maximum of 5 children per class. - This change was made to better handle the transition from assisted to unassisted swimming.
2. New balance drill: - A new body balance drill has been introduced into a number of levels. This drill has been designed to give swimmers even more balance and control in a fluid environment.
3. Learn-To-Swim 4 to Stroke Development: - These two levels have now been broken into three levels. LTS4, SD and PM (Pre Mini). - We have done this mainly because of the increasing number of younger swimmers reaching these higher levels. - These changes make it easier for all swimmers to master the form strokes while maintaining a higher skill level ready for the transition into Mini Squad. - This will also enable the swimmers to gain a higher level of fitness before getting to Mini Squad.
