DARREN LANGE SWIMMING ACADEMY
Swimming lessons are an exciting step in your child’s journey to water confidence and safety. At DLSA, our programs are designed to support every child’s unique needs in a fun and safe environment. From first splashes to essential swimming skills, our lessons provide the foundation for lifelong water safety and enjoyment.
Here’s what we offer:
The DLSA Infant and Toddler Program is designed to introduce young children to water safety and awareness from an early age. We offer FREE Splash Start (SS) Classes for babies aged 3 to 6 months, providing a gentle introduction to the aquatic environment. Babies who start at 3 months can enjoy these classes at no cost. Our Splash Start classes use songs and play to teach basic water awareness skills while emphasising water safety education. As your child progresses, they will begin learning essential reflex actions, including water orientation, breath control, flotation, and propulsion skills. To keep lessons engaging and enjoyable, we incorporate a unique ‘Circuit Program’ filled with songs and games, ensuring continuous skill development. Classes are held year-round in our hydrotherapy pool at Wilsonton, heated to 33 degrees for maximum comfort. The program is tailored to suit each child’s individual skill level while also following age-based guidelines. Through consistent repetition, your child will gradually build the foundational skills needed to transition into our Learn to Swim programs.
The DLSA Infant and Toddler Program is designed to introduce young children to water safety and awareness from an early age. Infants and toddlers will begin developing essential water skills through our reflex action training, which focuses on water orientation, breath control, flotation, and propulsion skills. Plus, don’t miss out on our NO OBLIGATION/FREE TRIAL LESSON! Our lessons incorporate songs and games to make learning fun and engaging, while our unique ‘Circuit Program’ ensures variety and keeps children practicing their reflex action skills in an exciting way. Classes are held in our hydrotherapy pool at Wilsonton, heated to a comfortable 33 degrees year-round, providing an ideal learning environment for young swimmers. The program is tailored to each child’s individual skill level while following age-appropriate guidelines. Through consistent practice and repetition, your child will build the foundational skills needed to transition smoothly into our Learn to Swim programs.
To swim correctly, children must first learn to relax in the water, which starts with developing essential standing and prone position skills in a safe and comfortable environment. Don't miss our NO OBLIGATION/FREE TRIAL OFFER! With a small class size of just 4 swimmers (WC1 & WC2), our instructors can provide personalised attention to help your child build water confidence at their own pace. Once your child masters Shallow Water Confidence, they will progress to developing their Deep Water Confidence skills, ensuring they feel secure in all water depths. Our Water Confidence Program goes beyond relaxation—it’s a vital stepping stone that builds the foundation for success in our Learn to Swim programs, setting your child up for a lifelong love of the water.
Our Learn to Swim Program follows a structured three-level progression, designed to help children develop the essential skills needed to swim freestyle and backstroke with efficient technique. Each class is tailored to support your child’s individual progress, allowing them to advance at their own pace while striving for their personal best. Don't miss our NO OBLIGATION/FREE TRIAL LESSON OFFER! Our Learn to Swim students are confident and fully unassisted in the water, which is why we maintain a maximum of 5 swimmers per class (LTS1) to ensure quality instruction and personalised guidance.
Having built a strong foundation in freestyle and backstroke with efficient technique, our Advanced Learn to Swim Program focuses on maintaining these skills while increasing swimming distance. As swimmers progress, they are challenged with new skills through the introduction of butterfly and breaststroke. By the end of the program, each swimmer will be confidently swimming all four strokes to the best of their ability and will be well-prepared to advance into our Squad Program, where they can further develop their swimming fitness and refine their skills. Don't miss our NO OBLIGATION/FREE TRIAL LESSON OFFER!
Swimming has long been a beloved national pastime in Australia, and our country is recognised as one of the best swimming nations in the world. With the rising rates of diabetes and weight-related health issues, swimming offers one of the healthiest and most enjoyable ways for children to adopt a lifelong attitude towards fitness and well-being. At DLSA, we offer a variety of Squad Programs tailored to suit the individual needs of all swimmers who want to take part in this fun and healthy sport. Our squad program provides a structured training environment, where swimmers can enhance their fitness and strength while continuing to receive ongoing stroke correction and development at every level.
