Centenary Heights Aquatic Centre Will Begin a MAJOR Renovation!

We are SUPER EXCITED!! It's official - Centenary Heights Aquatic will be TRANSFORMED through a MAJOR RENOVATION!

The DLSA has shared a long association with the Centenary Heights High School since the Aquatic Centre was opened in 1999. In those 24 years we have taught countless children throughout the area how to be safe in and around the water, while learning to swim and developing an essential skill for life!

The facility has aged somewhat over that time and is now scheduled for a FULL renovation.

As exciting as this is, it is not without some challenges. We have been informed that during the renovation process, the facility will be closed and not available for use.

So what does this mean for our DLSA Cent Hts families... We are excited to let you know that LESSONS WILL CONTINUE AS NORMAL, SAME DAY, SAME TIME, SAME TEACHER, AT OUR NEWLY OPENED DLSA CENTRAL FACILITY, conveniently located at the Harristown State High School (HSHS) Aquatic Centre.

DLSA Centenary Heights Program will temporarily relocate to the Harristown Aquatic Centre from Monday 5 June

The HSHS Aquatic Centre has just reopened after its own renovation and is a WARM, INDOOR 25m swimming pool, just perfect for our learn-to-swim and squad programs.

Here's a few important facts about the HSHS Aquatic Centre facility and location:

  • Indoor pool heated to 30deg

  • 8 lane 25m pool (same as Cent Hts pool)

  • On street and off street parking available

  • Newly renovated... It looks GREAT!

  • Located just 1.5km away from Darling Heights

  • Located just 2.5km away from Centenary Heights Aquatic Centre

  • Located just 4km away from Middle Ridge

  • Located just 5km away from Rangeville

We totally understand some of our Middle Ridge and Rangeville families may be concerned about some extra travel time when coming to swimming. Google Maps states the time taken to drive from Cent Hts Aquatic Centre to HSHS Aquatic Centre as just 6 minutes!

So with a little planning, this should not have a substantial impact on your travel time.

We encourage you to continue to prioritise your child's Water Safety Journey and remember that any extra travel time and/or inconvenience you may experience, will only be for a short time.

We are waiting for more information as to how long the renovation will take, but we envisage finishing out this current program and beginning 23P3 program at the Harristown facility. Hopefully we will be able to bring our program back to the newly renovated Centenary Heights facility before the end of 23P3. We will keep you informed and up-to-date as soon as we know. Rest assured, we will be moving the Centenary Heights program back to Cent Hts Aquatic Centre as soon as possible.

What Comes Next:

We will be working hard to keep you fully informed. DLSA Centenary Heights families, please ensure we have your most favoured email address and mobile number information in our system. We will communicate with you through those channels first. Also, keep an eye on our social media pages.

We look forward to working with you and your family during this exciting time and we can't wait to invite our Cent Hts families back to what will be the most modern swimming facility in the Toowoomba Region.
